Sheets of transparent plastic, chromatic plates to create luminous walls. This is the idea behind Miage, the third line of dixpari products. One more way to give new life to transparent plastic waste from the production of SPAs. This new product line, tailored to the lighting for rooms, was created thanks to the collaboration of the architect Antonella Pugno.
The idea stems from the work experience of designing and renovating residential environments, offices and hotels in which vertical surfaces need to be decorated and illuminated to give added ambiance to the environment. Miage has been designed for long walls and corridors, reception rails, large halls with high ceilings, fronts of reception counters, and wall coverings of swimming pool spaces in different contexts. Miage builds a new surface that shows emotions through light, plastic and its irregularities. The design of these environments enhances their uniqueness and originality. Experienced in working with recycled and regenerated plastic in the Alone and Macramé lines, the architect decided to create a modular backlight system.
By comparing the creative ideas with dixpari's artisan experience and production, a system was formed based on plastic plates, allowing the creation of a luminous, decorative, and furnishing element unique while highly customizable because it uses a variety of components.
As it was thought, the Miage system is a living system. The structure consists of a frame made of raw iron tracks, where the plastic tiles lean and slide. They are not fixed to each other or to the frame. This gives the possibility to compose its elements at will and change its position at any time, even inserting new ones to change and combine tones and colors of the environment. The low consumption LED light, placed behind the tiles, completes and gives life to the system.
Miage is the natural continuation of the basic idea of the dixpari project: finding innovative ways to recycle and regenerate plastic, restoring life while giving value to the material that would otherwise be destined for disposal.
Miage's first presentation is at the dixpari stand for Euroluce 2019 at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, pavilion 13 stand M16.
